Acts 15
Daily Devotional from Acts 15—
Verses 7-9
And after there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, "Brothers, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you, that by my mouth
the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. And God, who knows the heart, bore witness to them, by giving them the Holy Spirit just as he did to us, and he made no distinction between us and them, having cleansed their hearts by faith.
Everyone has an opinion. Even in the early church, the apostles had challenges accepting and understanding what they were seeing God do. In the end, they, like us, realized that God is good and gives His good gifts to anyone who will accept them. The passage tells us that He sees our hearts and gives gifts accordingly. The New King James Version of the Bible reads, “God acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit”. What a wonderful thing to know that God acknowledges all of us by giving us His precious gifts. Will you pause for just a moment and thank Him for His many gifts and many blessings to all of us today?
