Titus 1
Daily Devotional from Titus 1—
Verse 16
They profess to know God, but they deny him by their works. They are detestable, disobedient, unfit for any good work.
In Paul’s time, the Jews based all of their belief in God on legalism, following hundreds of rules and elevating themselves to a position where they believed they had no need of grace or mercy.
Arrogance and religion both allow us to elevate ourselves above the need of a Savior. That’s why they are so deadly. In my past, God brought intense suffering into my life. Through that amazing kindness, (Yes, the suffering was God’s kindness to me), I learned that life is all about Jesus. The things I did just made me an unfit and horrible person. I was just denying Jesus and my need for Him. But grace.......
This chapter teaches us to be a champion of grace. Grace pardons, grace cleanses, and grace sets us free to be the person Jesus created us to be. God’s grace enables us to live peaceful, Godly lives in humility and truth. Become a recipient of His incredible grace today.
