1 John 1
Daily Devotional from 1 John 1--
Verse 5
This is the message [of God’s promised revelation] which we have heard from Him and now announce to you, that God is Light [He is holy, His message is truthful, He is perfect in righteousness], and in Him there is no darkness at all [no sin, no wickedness, no
imperfection]. (Amplified Version)
Britannica defines light as electromagnetic radiation that can be detected by the human eye. The Bible says God is light, and further explains light by saying He is Holy, His message is truth, and He is perfect in righteousness.
When we walk with God, we walk in the absence of darkness. The Bible tells us in John 1:5 that darkness does not understand light. Darkness includes fear, death, abuse, suffering, hardship, and torment.
When we walk with the God of Light, we understand love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. And when the day is done, I will rest in His Light, His goodness, and His mercy. Today I invite you to walk in His Light.
