Romans 12

Daily Devotional from Romans 12--

Verse 18
If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

We are called to overcome evil with good, to love our enemies, and to take it a step further and even serve them. This is so counter-cultural—especially in our society’s polarized climate.

We may not agree with how others choose to live their life or what opinions they hold—whether they are a Christian or not—but we are called to live at peace with everyone. Sometimes it’s hard to see someone beyond an opinion they hold, and our society would teach us to label them and avoid those who are unlike us. But the Bible teaches us to love everyone and live peaceably among them. Everyone you meet is an image bearer of God, and so we should treat everyone with respect.

Today, if you’re struggling to live at peace with someone because of their lifestyle, opinion, or possibly a painful situation—ask the Holy Spirit to give you wisdom on how to live peaceably with them.
