Exodus 1
Daily Devotional from Exodus 1--
Verse 9-10
And [Pharaoh] said to his people, “Behold, the people of Israel are too many and too mighty for us. Come, let us deal shrewdly with them, lest they multiply, and, if war breaks out, they join our enemies and fight against us and escape from the land.”
Afraid that his power and influence would be challenged, Pharaoh made choices that led to death and oppression. Like Adam and Eve, Pharaoh listened to the lying serpent and took matters into his own hands. Because of his fear, he thought it good to enslave people and murder babies.
There are times when we act like Pharaoh, making sinful choices because we are afraid to lose something that is important to us. We can step into unimaginable sin when we let fear drive the car.
Is God laying anything on your heart that needs repentance? Don’t let fear drive the car anymore. Instead, be like the Egyptian midwives who trusted God in the face of fear and death, ang let God take the wheel.
