Verse 23
I will put a division between my people and your people.

We don’t like the sound of that. Division? We would probably prefer to fit in with those around us – do the same things, act the same way, talk the same talk. They’re into this, that, and the other. And, why shouldn’t we be? We breathe the same air, after all. Shouldn’t we think the same thoughts, have the same opinions? Let’s just be one. But this is not God’s plan for his people. This world is under his judgment. So we’d better hope there’s a division on that day. But he’s not going to wait until that day. That division begins now. So don’t feel skittish if the Lord puts a division between you and the world around you, the neighbors around you, and even the family around you. Don’t balk, just know this is what he does with those whom he calls his own. It’s for your good.
