Exodus 24
Daily Devotional from Exodus 24–
Verse 12
The Lord said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain and wait there…”
Moses was about to have the encounter of a lifetime. But before this was to happen, he was simply told to come and wait. But, knowing Moses, he was probably fairly accustomed to this kind of thing with no big encounters to speak of. Lately, I feel the Lord’s been waking me up very early in the morning, and inviting me to come and wait. Sometimes I heed it, but, if I’m being honest, most times I’d rather go back to sleep. This passage inspires me, though, that if we want encounters with the Lord then we may need to learn how to come and wait. Can you try to do this with me? When you hear the call, regardless of what you’re doing, or how you feel, let’s stretch ourselves and simply obey the call, and make ourselves available to come and wait.
