Genesis 20
Daily Devotional from Genesis 20--
Verse 6
Then God said to him in the dream, “Yes, I know that you have done this in the integrity of your heart, and it was I who kept you from sinning against me. Therefore I did not let you touch her.”
There have been many times in life when I have made a plan to do this or that, and something has gotten in the way, preventing me from doing it. I can recall times when what I planned to do, was definitely NOT in God’s will. And now I’m grateful my plans were thwarted in those instances! But then sometimes I planned to do something that didn’t seem like it would be a problem, and yet “my plan” was still frustrated somehow.
There are times when God diverts our plans because He wants to help us walk rightly before Him. Sometimes, there’s something wrong with what we’re planning, and we just don’t know it. Sometimes, things don’t happen in order to protect us or the ones we love. Think of all those people who worked in the Twin Towers, and woke up sick one September 11th. Too sick to go to work. What a blessing in disguise!
If your path seems to veer off in a direction you didn’t want, seek God about it – maybe He has a better plan for you!
