Genesis 26
Daily Devotional from Genesis 26--
Verse 2
And the Lord appeared to him and said, “Do not go down to Egypt; dwell in the land of which I shall tell you.”
Isaac was not a perfect man; we see this in the text. But he learned from his father to trust the Lord. Instead of going to Egypt, he followed God’s direction. And throughout this passage, we see the Lord promising to bless him, and fulfilling His promise. Even when we fail, God is faithful. God promised to bless Isaac because his father was obedient, and he held to his promise.
When we follow the Lord, it can impact generations to come. Our children will learn from us to love Jesus. Our friends will see our faithfulness and be inspired to follow Christ. Our coworkers will get saved and then their children will. Where we are lacking, God is perfect, fulfilling all His promises.
Today, remember the impact your walk with Jesus has not only on yourself, but on those around you.
