Leviticus 3
Daily Devotional from Leviticus 3--
Verse 6
If his offering for a sacrifice of peace offering to the Lord is an animal from the flock, male or female, he shall offer it without blemish.
I don’t know about you, but I am glad we don’t have to do animal sacrifices anymore. The Israelites were accustomed to this temporary paying of their sins though. They knew they had sin in their lives that could only be paid by the shed blood of a perfect, spotless animal.
Jesus came and He died spotless and without any defect because Jesus never sinned! His one sacrifice is good for all people at all times. Because of Him we don’t need to sacrifice lambs or goats or anything else!
God is so good so today let’s rejoice in this freedom. Death doesn’t have the final word. Jesus has made us right with God so we can live with eternity in view and we can live experiencing the peace of God that goes beyond understanding because God became flesh and paid our debt for us. Sin and shame no longer have a hold on us. Hallelujah!
