Ephesians 2

Daily Devotional from Ephesians 2--

Verse 14
For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility.

There was a thick-slab wall that stood in the temple. It read: “Foreigners must not enter…Whoever is caught will have himself to blame for his ensuing death.” This was called the Thanatos Inscription. Thanatos is a Greek word that means death. So, you can call it the Death Wall. Jew and Gentile were separated by a wall of death, and verse 14 says that all such walls must crumble because of the cross. The death wall of color and race. The of death wall of political party and affiliation. The death wall of economics and status. The cross serves as the greatest reconciliation known to man.

Take a moment to drink in the sights and sounds of Revelation 7:9-10. And tell me if any walls of division remain when Jesus is Lord.
