Isaiah 63-64
Daily Devotional from Isaiah 64--
Verse 8
Yet Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we all are the work of your hands.
Have you ever seen an artist throw clay? They take this lump of clay, spin it and mold it into things both useful and beautiful. The process always amazes me. That they can take this lump of earth and transform it into something beautiful.
In this verse, Isaiah is equating the children of God to clay-- a lump of earth ready to be molded and used however God sees fit.
Sometimes we have a hard time seeing that we are clay, being molded and formed by the hands of the father. But, we’re being molded nonetheless.
As a child of God, you too are clay in the hands of God the father who is molding you into something beautiful. Let him bring you to life, shape you, and mold you. Ask God to show you what you're being molded into. Ask those around you what they see God doing in you. You won’t regret it.
