Jeremiah 1-2
Daily Devotional from Jeremiah 1--
Verse 1
But you, dress yourself for work; arise, and say to them everything that I command you. Do not be dismayed by them, lest I dismay you before them.
As a young man, Jeremiah didn’t feel equipped to be the prophet God asked him to be. But God reassured Him that He was strengthening him for the task ahead. Jeremiah was obedient in proclaiming God’s word to Jerusalem—but no one wanted to listen to him—not even other “prophets.” He had to stand firm on what God was commanding him to say even though everyone around him told him to stop.
As Christ followers, we have the burden of carrying the Good News with us wherever we go—whether that’s at our job, school, or friend’s house. Sometimes that truth won’t be taken well, but we cannot become discouraged. The command we received in Matthew 28 to “go and make disciples” stands true today, and God wants us to be confident in sharing the Gospel message wherever we may go. People may reject or accept it—but we are commissioned to spread it no matter the response.
