Jeremiah 3-4
Daily Devotional from Jeremiah 4--
Verse 3
Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.
If the Word of God is seed and your heart is soil, how should you prepare your fields? Well, this verse provides us a few pointers.
Number one: Locate the places in your heart that have sat neglected. That’s what we call fallow ground. And, perhaps, it’s time to turn over some fresh soil.
Secondly: You might need to clear some thorns and remove some distractions. The best heart work is done when you have the space to focus.
And third: Sow some seed. Spend some time in God’s Word. Read it slowly and prayerfully. Allow it to germinate new life in your soul.
God has work to do in you today. But to yield a harvest is going to require the cooperation of verse 3.
