2 Chronicles 18-19
Daily Devotional from 2 Chronicles 18--
Verses 12-13 (CSB)
The messenger who had gone to summon Micaiah said to him, “Look, the other prophets without exception are predicting success for the king. Let your word agree with theirs, and speak favorably.”
But Micaiah said, “As surely as the Lord lives, I can tell him only what my God says.”
Can you imagine how intimidating it would be to be the only divergent voice among a multitude of people who are speaking for God? Micaiah wouldn’t say what God didn’t say—which is why Ahab didn’t call him in the first place.
Sometimes, we will be the only ones speaking God’s truth—even within a group of other believers. It can be so tempting to move with the crowd, to assume we are wrong because no one else agrees.
If you feel like that’s you—pray and ask God for conviction, strength, and courage to speak his truth when it feels like everyone else is in disagreement. God is faithful to sustain you and see you through it.
