1 Samuel 9-11
Daily Devotional from 1 Samuel 9--
Verse 2
He had a son whose name was Saul, a handsome young man. There was not a man among the people of Israel more handsome than he. From his shoulders upward he was taller than any of the people.
Be careful of trusting a first impression. Sometimes we have a mental image of who would be right for what. And sometimes initially they check all the boxes. They look impressive and inspire confidence. But, given time and testing, they prove to be something much different.
Therefore, prior to making any commitments, give things time. How do they handle problems? How do they respond to adversity? Do they trust the Lord? Or do they take matters into their own hands?
Certain people can make a stunning first impression, but a person’s character only comes out with time.
