2 Samuel 6-8

Daily Devotional from 2 Samuel 6--

Verses 13-14a
And when those who bore the ark of the LORD had gone six steps, he sacrificed an ox and a fattened animal. And David danced before the LORD with all his might.

David loved worshiping God. He didn’t care what he looked like. All he wanted was for those around him to join in worshipping Yahweh, the God above all. We see this in our reading today, and in the book of Psalms, where we can read the beautiful songs, poems, and prayers David wrote to God.

Worship is following the command to “love the Lord your God with all your heart.” We love God, because He first loved us. One way we can love him is by singing melodies that remind us of who He is, help us express our emotions to Him, and give us the words to praise Him. We might worry about what others think or let our minds wander during times of worship. But let’s be inspired by David—he didn’t care how other people viewed him; his sole focus was to let God know how much he loved him by worshipping Him with all of his might.

Here is a great song you can worship along with this week: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TCWaNP96AA
