Leviticus 9-10
Daily Devotional from Leviticus 9--
Verse 23
And Moses and Aaron went into the tent of meeting, and when they came out they blessed the people, and the glory of the LORD appeared to all the people.
In Leviticus 9-10, we see how the sacrifices were carried out. There were very specific commands for the sin, burnt, and peace offerings. When Aaron had carried out these commands, God appeared before all of the people, and they fell down and worshipped Him.
But, none of these sacrifices could atone for our sin. These sacrifices carried out in Leviticus show the yearning for a perfect sacrifice and for mankind to be close to God. This is why God sent Jesus to earth, to be the final sacrifice to atone for our sins and so that we could live forever with Him (John 3:16-17). The Lord lived among us (by Jesus), and now He lives within us (by the Holy Spirit) when we invite Him into our lives.
