Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.
We live in such a competitive society that constantly seeks to outdo one another. Well, here’s one thing to outdo others in—showing honor. If someone pays you a compliment, do her one better and give her a referral. If someone shows you a kindness, up the ante and send him a gift. And if someone disrespects you (hmm… here’s where it gets fun), speak a kind and pleasant word. Outdo one another. Be the most encouraging, gracious person you know. Give it a try. There’s just no finer way of building a community of God.
