1 Corinthians 7
1 Corinthians 7:17
Let each person lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him, and to which God has called him.
I love the part at the end of John’s Gospel where Peter gets his commission from the Lord of what he is to do in life and how he is to honor the Lord in death. But then Peter points to John and says, “What about him?” And to that the Lord retorts, “Don’t worry ‘bout him. Just listen to what I’m telling you.” We all have the tendency of comparing ourselves with others. But, Jesus says, don’t worry about them. You do what I’m calling you to do. Resist the urge to compare. Be the man… be the woman… be the child God is calling you to be. There has never been another you, and there never will be another you. So, you have God’s permission and commission to be YOU. The world is counting on it.
