2 Corinthians 11
2 Corinthians 11:30
If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weaknesses.
Famed theologian Karl Barth used to say, “When we speak of our virtues, we are competitors, but when we confess our sins, we become brothers.” There is something disarming when we disclose our weaknesses. However, weaknesses are something we typically don’t like to put on display. We’d rather people to see our best features. This comes intuitively. But, if you spend enough time with Jesus, you know he invites us to think counter-intuitively. So, go ahead and try it. Tell people your strengths and see how far that gets you. But, when the moment is right, reveal a weakness and watch what that can do to your relationship.
