Titus 3

Titus 3:4, 7
When the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us… so that… we might become heirs.

In C.S. Lewis’s children’s tale, The Horse and His Boy, he tells the story of a boy named Shasta. Shasta grew up thinking he was the son of a poor fisherman, who treated him poorly and didn’t seem to care much about him. Therefore, he just acted like a ruffian. But little did Shasta know he was about to be rescued by a lion, named Aslan, brought to the country of his birth (Archenland), brought back to his real father (who happened to be the king), and brought back to his real name (Prince Cor). And he even discovered, he is an heir to the very throne itself.

And your story is not too far off from this. You, like Shasta, have been rescued by Jesus, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, and brought to a new country, reconciled to the father, given a new name, and a new lease on life. You are a son of God, a daughter of the king! And have been made eternal heirs of the kingdom itself. Could your story have been written any better?
