Revelation 22
Revelation 22:5
They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light.
Isn’t it interesting that the Bible begins and ends with a world filled with light yet with no sun?
On the first day, God said, “Let there be light!” And there was light. Yet the sun wasn’t created until the fourth day. And then at the end of time, the sun will no longer render its services for the Lord Himself will be our light. How interesting.
The sun, as great of a star as it is, is simply a light bulb plugged into a more powerful source. And the encouragement is this: when the light bulbs of life go out, the services they render do not because we have a sustainer God who is the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end, the great Father of Lights with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
And that concludes our reading of the New Testament. Join us on Friday as we begin a new Journey through Scripture with the book of Genesis.
