2 Kings 8-9
Daily Devotional from 2 Kings 8--
Verse 6
And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed an official for her, saying, “Restore all that was hers, together with all the produce of the fields from the day that she left the land until now.”
Bad things happen in life, but God is in the business of restoration.
The Shunammite woman’s dead son was restored to life. The woman’s land with all its produce of seven years was restored to her possession.
There are so many examples of God’s restorative acts throughout Scripture. Because of Jesus’s sacrifice, right relationship between a holy God and His creation was restored. Restoring something that is broken or missing must be part of His nature.
Are you missing something you used to have? Is there something you’ve lost that you want God to restore? Maybe it’s a broken relationship that needs to be mended. A love for His Word? Are you missing joy? Purpose? Direction? Faith? First love for the Lord?
Is there some action that you need to take?
Perhaps the first step is just to ask. Maybe He is just waiting for you to ask.
