Daily Devotional from Isaiah 22—

Verse 11
You made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool. But you did not look to him who did it, or see him who planned it long ago.

Everyone has had tasks to perform where their talents or abilities were just what was needed to get the job done. A mechanic with the proper tools is able to fix a car that is not running. A skilled carpenter can build a beautiful piece of furniture.

But what happens when you are assigned a job that you are unqualified to perform?
If you want to be successful, you get help.

Sometimes God asks us to perform a task that we don’t have the skills to accomplish. If we try to accomplish this task on our own, with our own ideas and talents, we are likely to produce an inferior result.

Our verse today reminds us that God wants us to seek His help - not to do things on our own, but to look for help from the One with all the answers and resources.
