Jeremiah 33-34

Daily Devotional from Jeremiah 33--

Verse 8 (CSB)
I will purify them from all the iniquity they have committed against me, and I will forgive all the iniquities they have committed against me, rebelling against me.

God is such a merciful and loving God.

Israel had been moving farther away from God with each generation. Israel was looking so much like all the other groups around them, falling into greed, lust, conquest, etc. Their iniquity was creating a bent or crooked way to see God, themselves, and the world around them.

YET-- God was intent on making a way for them to be able to be done with sin. HE will purify them. He WILL forgive them.

God did what God set out to do--purify and forgive this crooked way of being human. Not just for Israel, but for you.

Your crooked way of being human, the ways you go against God’s heart, all of those things we do that separate us from God-- has been purified and forgiven due to the work of Jesus on the cross and his resurrection-- FOREVER.

God has been merciful and loving towards you. Rest in that today.
