Jeremiah 49-50
Daily Devotional from Jeremiah 50--
Verse 34
Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name. He will surely plead their cause, that he may give rest to the earth, but unrest to the inhabitants of Babylon.
Even though God handed over His people to the Babylonians for being unrepentant for so long, He still had a plan to restore them. Even after all they had done to reject Him, He was their protector and He was pleading their cause.
Our actions don’t come without consequences, but it is comforting to know that no matter how far we run, that when we repent and turn to God, He hears us. And while we are running, He longs for our relationship to be restored back to Him. I’m sure we’ve all had times in our lives where we’ve rejected God or refused to listen to Him. We probably faced consequences of those actions, but at some point we turned to Jesus and He made us whole! Wow! We have so much to be thankful for. Today, let’s take some time to give thanks to God for His grace.
