Hosea 10-12

Daily Devotional from Hosea 10--

Verse 12

Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap steadfast love; break up your fallow ground, for it is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come and rain righteousness upon you.

What are we sowing in our lives? How do we sow righteousness so that we may reap steadfast love? Well we have to break up our fallow ground (soften our hearts!) We need to seek the Lord. The Lord is righteous and in His steadfast love He rains righteousness on all who seek Him. This is the core of this verse and the book of Hosea God is wanting the people of Israel to seek Him.

This is also what He desires of you!! God hasn’t changed; He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Over 700 years after the book of Hosea was written, look at what Jesus says In Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” That’s a big time gap but God is saying the same thing!

This is what God wants, He wants you to seek Him and if you seek Him you will find Him.
