Zechariah 10-12
Daily Devotional from Zechariah 12--
Verse 10
And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.
The Israelites have had a tough go and much of it was brought on by their own disobedience to God, but time and time again God keeps giving them promises through the prophets and continues offering the Israelites forgiveness. This time, as many times in the Old Testament, we see a prophecy about Jesus. It’s incredible that this is how God chose to pour out His grace and mercy. He chose to do it through His Son Jesus Christ.
God came through on His promise and it was not just for the Israelites but for all nations. Jesus made a way for us to experience true freedom from sin and condemnation. Jesus continues to provide us forgiveness through the spilling of His blood. He made a way where there was no way. God never goes back on His Word, He never lies, remember that and dwell on the promises God has given to you.
