Daily Devotional from Matthew 8--

Verses 2 and 3

And a man with leprosy came to Him and bowed down before Him, and said, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” Jesus reached out with His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

Isn’t it awesome that Jesus was willing to dirty himself by touching this leper? Leprosy was infectious and nasty, yet Jesus reached His hand out and touched this filthy man. No matter how dirty you are, no matter what sins you have committed. Jesus is right there and you can come to Him over and over; he will never be disgusted with you.

Jesus reflected this same attitude when He went and became sin at the cross, He became sin! The Holy Righteous Messiah became sin for you, so you would be clean. We all relate so much to this leper, we who were steeped in sin have been cleansed! You are clean!!
