Matthew 26
Daily Devotional from Matthew 26--
Verse 50
Jesus said to him, “Friend, do what you came to do.” Then they came up and laid hands on Jesus and seized him.
We have all sinned and betrayed God. We are each responsible for the suffering and death of Jesus. But even at the time Judas was betraying Him in the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus called Judas “friend”. And I don’t believe this was sarcasm.
Even though we reject Him when we sin, we are all friends to Jesus — who could show no greater love than to lay down His life for us. (John 15:13)
