Daily Devotional from Mark 10--
Verses 44-45
And whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
The Kingdom of God is so different from the ways of the world. Jesus has told us that in order to lead we must serve - we have to take the lowest position in order to lead people. We have to be able to embrace insults even to the point of violence if it comes.
The world says Power = Control. But in the Kingdom, we know God is the source of all real power. It’s incredible that Jesus gave His life for us and now we in response give our lives up for His sake. We are not our own but we were bought with a price. Take some time today to ask God how you can best serve the surrounding community or individuals that He lays on your heart. Listen and even write down the ideas He gives you, then let’s serve - empowered by the Living God!!
