Luke 12
Daily Devotional from Luke 12—
Verses 43-33
Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. Truly, I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions.
It’s easy to get calloused to the teaching that Jesus is coming back soon (Rev. 22:20). After all it has been almost 2000 years since that message was written. But only God knows what He means by “soon”. (One of His days is like 1000 of our years.)
But there are numerous passages in Scripture, like today’s, that tell us to stay prepared, keep working, and stay expectant. When He comes, it will be quickly.
When He returns, be found involved in kingdom work. These are the good works you were created to do. (Eph. 2:10)
The promised rewards may be for today, but better for later. You can’t take physical rewards with you when you pass on to eternity.
Be involved, be ready, be looking!
Maranatha!
(O, Lord come!)
