Acts 2
Daily Devotional from Acts 2--
Verse 42
And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.
After Pentecost, the early Christians, before they were even known as Christians, were devoted to spending time together. Our verse today, and others that follow, tell us they were sharing meals together, praying, praising God, selling property to provide funds for the needy, and devoting much time to the teachings of the Apostles.
This seemed to be the recipe for developing unity and being attractive to others, so that their numbers grew day by day.
The world has changed a lot since those early days, but I believe this recipe for ministry and church growth is valid for today.
What part are you playing in these activities?
We all need to be devoted — involved and doing our part, both in giving and receiving.
