Psalm 116
Daily Devotional from Psalm 116—
Verse 1
I love the Lord, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy.
Ask people what they think some of the most important qualities in a friend would be, and you will regularly get “good listener” in that list. We need sounding boards, to help us process our emotions or work out our faith, or make decisions. Sometimes we need a listening ear as we dig deep beneath the surface of our wounds to clean out emotional infection so that we can move on toward healing.
It’s awesome to have friends or family members who can fill that role for us at times. But know for certain, that you always have a loving father in heaven who is ready and wanting to hear your voice. Pour out everything to Him, in conversation, or a journal, or song…He is the best listener. Then listen to the wisdom He has for you – His Word is filled with all the wonderful things He thinks about YOU!
