1 Corinthians 13
Daily Devotional from 1 Corinthians 13--
Verse 2
And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
What is your spiritual goal in life? I don’t mean the goal to reach heaven. What is it that you desire that can be useful in bringing God’s kingdom here on earth as it is in heaven?
Some wish to become fantastic preachers, some desire to pray and have miracles happen - faith to move mountains. Others wish to become financially successful so they have more to contribute to charity. These are all well and good, but Paul reminds us of what is more important.
All of these desires (and others) must be founded on a motive of love. Paul describes what this looks like in this chapter (the Love chapter).
Let’s ask God to help us love Him and our “neighbors” more and more each day. And out of that love let us expect the growth of spiritual fruit as He uses us.
