2 Corinthians 12

Daily Devotional from 2 Corinthians 12--

Verse 9

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

God’s wisdom is not like worldly wisdom. 

If we are preparing for battle, wisdom says we should attempt to strengthen both our offensive and defensive assets. The stronger they are, the more likely we will have a positive outcome. Stronger forces have an advantage.

But in battles with spiritual implications, God doesn’t want us to depend on our own abilities, but to depend on His. Weaker is better. It requires we depend on God’s strength to get the job done, because He has the resources and we don’t. 

So the next time you feel deficient in performing a spiritual task, remember that He promises to be strong for you. Depend on Him. Expect Him to show up. And don’t forget to thank Him for His help.
