Psalm 123
Daily Devotional from Psalm 123—
Verse 2
Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maidservant to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till he has mercy upon us.
I love the imagery here. A good servant is focused on their master in order to anticipate their needs. A more modern analogy might be an athlete who stays focused on their coach. It’s easy to get caught up in the play of the day, the ups and downs, the wins and losses, but let’s remember to keep our eyes on our coach and trust His plan. His call might not always make sense to us, but He has the big picture and the main plan, trust Him!
