Ephesians 3

Daily Devotional from Ephesians 3--

Verses 4-6

When you read this, you can perceive my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit. This mystery is that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.

God had chosen Israel to be His special family, and the Jews were proud of it. But little did the Jews know that God had a larger plan - a plan to bless the entire world through them. This plan was a mystery until God revealed it to Paul and other apostles by the Holy Spirit. Gentiles were to be grafted into this special family through the sacrifice on the cross by the Jewish God-man, Jesus Christ. 

So the God of love didn’t/doesn’t want to save just the Jews. He is not willing that any perish. (2 Peter 3:9) He could have chosen any race to favor, but He wanted someone who would answer the call of God by faith. That man was Abraham,  who became the Father of the Jewish nation, the ancestor of King David, Jesus Christ, and the grafted-in Gentiles (the Church).

What a great plan! We are included! Thank you Father!
