Ephesians 4
Daily Devotional from Ephesians 4--
Verses 26-27 (CSB)
Be angry and do not sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your anger, and don’t give the devil an opportunity.
Anger is a powerful emotion. It signals that something is wrong. It is a needed emotion. Anger helps us see when a relationship needs some care.
Like any emotion, if left untreated, unspoken, or uncared for, anger can open our hearts to sin. It can lead to bitterness, resentment, disunity, and division. It opens the door for the devil to come feed us lies about what or who we are angry at—or lies about ourselves.
If you struggle with anger, ask the Holy Spirit to speak truth over you and the situation. Talk to the person, or talk with someone who can help you see with clearer eyes. Seek restoration and seek unity.
As Paul says in Ephesians 4:1-3,
Therefore I, the prisoner in the Lord, urge you to walk worthy of the calling you have received, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
