Verses 19-20

Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;  for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

We should always endeavor to let grace precede our criticism. It is important that we listen to one another even if we have different opinions and that we respond in love and kindness to one another. If anger is a response to differing thoughts and opinions or even everyday small trials, then it would be wise of us to check our hearts. Anger is typically a response we have when we are lacking peace. So let’s ask God to grant us peace and self-control. 

Have you ever been around people who can’t control their anger? It’s pretty unpleasant to be around. You feel on edge and uncomfortable because the environment feels hostile. Let’s be people who provide the best environment for our fellow believers and for non-believers. An environment filled with the love and peace of God.
