James 4
Daily Devotional from James 4--
Verse 17
So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.
Christians know that God hates sin, and as believers we are to do our best to live a sinless life - to live in a manner worthy of our calling as children of God.
Living a sin-free life seems like monumental task, and it gets worse as we learn there are two types of sin, known as sins of commission and (a second type introduced in the verse above) sins of omission.
To most Christians, if not all, living a sin-free life is impossible. No matter how hard we try, sin creeps in. So with God’s help we do our best, and when we fall, we get back up (confess our sin, ask for forgiveness, repent) and continue on our path forward.
Thank you Father for your forgiveness, help, mercy and grace!
