2 Peter 3
Daily Devotional from 2 Peter 3--
Verse 9
The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient towards you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
God doesn’t want anybody to perish. So, the Lord waits, and he waits, and he waits. He is certainly the most patient being to have ever existed. He wants people’s salvation more than anything. He wants it so bad he can taste it. Yet he doesn’t blow his top. He just steadily perseveres, year after year – waiting. And so, it’s been 2,000 years. And some will think he doesn’t care. Some will say he’s dragging his feet. When nothing can be further from the truth. He just simply has a hard time with the idea of letting anyone perish. It just was never meant to be that way.
