Psalm 131
Daily Devotional from Psalm 131—
Verse 2
But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.
What’s so calm about a weaned child with its mother? It can feed itself! The child knows that mother is no longer the only source of food. A weaned child has learned to ask for food when they are hungry.
We are heading into the holiday season which can be hectic, busy, melancholy, and stressful as well as joyful! If you find yourself caught up in one of the frantic or discouraging emotions, sit down, close your eyes, and speak aloud this verse over yourself. Speak it until your soul starts to calm down. Allow the Holy Spirit to wash over you and fill you to overflowing. Remember the reason for the season and be blessed.
