Revelation 13

Daily Devotional from Revelation 13--

Verse 8

And all who dwell on earth will worship it, everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain.

In the last days, the Bible says a “beast” will rise out of the sea and all who dwell on earth will worship it. Well, not everyone.

There will be some alive on earth at this time, whose names are found in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain, who will not bow down and worship the beast. This Lamb refers to Jesus who was slain in our place. He took the judgement that we deserved upon His shoulders, so that we could have restored relationship with the Father. The book of life implies those whose names are entered will be spending eternity living in the presence of God.

All those who accept Jesus as Savior and Lord have their names written in this Lamb’s book of life. If you are one of these, isn’t it amazing to think your name wasn’t added after you made the commitment to Jesus, but due to God’s foreknowledge, it was entered before the foundation of the world!
