Leviticus 21-22
Daily Devotional from Leviticus 22--
Verse 32b-33
I am the LORD who sanctifies you, who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God: I am the LORD.
Throughout Leviticus 21-22 we see requirements physically and relationally for the priests, and we see physical requirements for the sacrifices. Throughout this reading we also see the word “blemish” repeated over and over. It was required that the priests be without any physical blemish and it was the same for the sacrifices.
Our God is holy; He is without blemish. When Jesus came to earth and lived a life without blemish—a holy life—He became that perfect sacrifice. Jesus is the one who is sanctifying us (making us right, purifying us) through the Holy Spirit. As we live our day-to-day lives, let’s reflect on how Jesus lived His life, and ask the Holy Spirit to guide us in every action, thought, and decision.
