Numbers 2-3
Daily Devotional from Numbers 2--
Verse 3
Those to camp on the east side toward the sunrise shall be of the standard of the camp of Judah by their companies, the chief of the people of Judah being Nahshon the son of Amminadab…
The more I read and learn about the Bible, the more I love the story of the Tabernacle. One of my favorite things about it is that the entrance must face the east; because back in Genesis 3, humans were exiled from the Garden of Eden and were forced to go...east! Meaning those who enter the tabernacle come out of exile and back into the place where God dwells. And the tribe that lived in front of the entrance (and led the Israelites when traveling) was Judah--from whom Jesus descends!
Much like Judah guards the tabernacle and leads the people of Israel in marching to the promised land, Jesus guards us (as we, His Church, are now the tabernacle) and leads us into the Kingdom of God.
As you go throughout your day, imagine Jesus going before every step, every word you say, every action you take, and thank him for making a way.
