Jeremiah 25-26

Daily Devotional from Jeremiah 26--

Verse 3
It may be they will listen, and every one turn from his evil way, that I may relent of the disaster that I intend to do to them because of their evil deeds.

God gave the people of Judah so many chances to turn from the evil that they were doing. Even though their hearts were hard, He still gave them a chance to repent. They were wrong, but He still wanted to extend grace.

Sometimes, we are like Judah. The truth hurts, and we don’t want to hear it. But, when we decide to accept it and repent, we grow in unexpected ways. Repentance isn’t just to escape punishment; it is how we grow in humility, honesty, and holiness. It also keeps us safe from the pain that living in un-repentance brings. If we want to follow Jesus, we must accept when His Holy Spirit convicts us through the Word, others, or our conscience.

Today, let’s ask God to examine us and see if there’s anything we are letting control us or keep us from the truth.
