Ezekiel 31-32

Verse 18
Whom are you thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? You shall be brought down with the trees of Eden to the world below.
It’s hard to argue against success because after all, it's working. So, people can get away with near murder just as long as it brings results. But, as we can see in chapter 31, worldly acclaim has a relatively short life. Therefore, it’s wise for us to heed the words of Jesus in Matthew 23:12: “those who exalt themselves will be humbled.” So, be very leery of your temporary triumphs because one day they may fall like a great cedar of Lebanon if your trust is not in the right place.
