Ezekiel 37-38
Daily Devotional from Ezekiel 37--
Verses 1-3
The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought me out by his Spirit and set me down in the middle of the valley; it was full of bones. He led me all around them. There were a great many of them on the surface of the valley, and they were very dry. Then he said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”
I replied, “Lord God, only you know.”
Does your heart feel like a desert? Like a valley of bones, once filled with life, but now nothing feels like it can survive?
Ezekiel 37 is a radical image of what God can do with a valley of death. God resurrects the dead and breathes life into new flesh.
This is what he does to our desert hearts through the power of the work of Jesus on the cross and resurrection. Our dry bones are covered with muscle and skin, organs work, blood pumps through our veins, and the breath of God enters and we begin to truly live.
God longs to provide you with life. All you have to do is accept his invitation. Let him transform your heart into an oasis where life is found, not just for you, but for others who are dry as well.
